Hell On Earth

I am a level headed professional raising a young family. When spending over $20,000.00 a year I expect a modicum of service, respectability and accountability from those I pay for this service. This has not been the case at Seacrest Apartments in San Clemente. After 9 months of noise, dust, dirt, roaches, rats, drunken parties, slammed doors, water cut-offs, speeding cars, construction at all hours of the day and night and the worst staff of apathetic crooks I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with, we have had it! On the outside, Seacrest looks almost idyllic. Spanish architecture and a nice pool house are enough to fool most into paying the inflated rent. The palm trees by the clubhouse shade the uncomfortable truth that those who smile and laugh while showing you the grounds on their plush golf cart will quickly transform into a soulless, indifferent, rude and incompetent gang of thugs before the ink on your lease dries. Seacrest is no place for anyone who wants to reside in a quiet and respectable neighborhood. The walls are paper thin exposing you to the distasteful domestic habits of every apartment surrounding you. The aging plumbing fills your apartment with the scent of water buildup and mildew. Every time a neighbor runs the water you are exposed to a crescendo of jet airplane type noise until such time as the water is turned off. The toilets clog almost every time they are used. If you don t mind your toddlers crawling around on a cocktail of bodily waste then this shouldn t be a big issue. The sinks drip, pipes leak and a kaleidoscope of mould can be seen germinating in each crevice. The electric power is dirty and spikes damaging your electronic equipment including televisions and stereos. You can hear electrical pops when you turn on certain appliances. Provided appliances are mediocre and often blow breakers when used. The drains smell horrible and no amount of plumbing prowess can fix it. Management will rent to anyone stupid enough to sign on the line. I have had my fill of unsavory characters, drugged long haired party goers, drunken teens and loiterers. I have become almost accustomed to late night prowlers yelling obscenities outside my 2 year olds window. I have not had one uninterrupted nights rest in months. Seacrest is also renovating some of the apartments so they can charge incoming residents even more for a coat of paint, cheap appliances and tacky cabinetry all hastily installed by the lowest bidder. My advice is that unless these buildings were condemned, torn down and rebuilt that this Ikea like remodel is not worth a dime. Now, if you expect to be treated with respect or you expect any level of service you should not bother with the automatons in the Seacrest leasing office. These apathetic schmucks are squarely under the thumbs of Real Estate Partners Inc. in Irvine. After speaking on countless occasions to the morons in the office I also have spoken to their overlords at REP and I now know where their business philosophy emanates from. To be coarse, at Seacrest, ---- does roll down hill directly onto the backs of the residents. Expect no apologies, no mercy, no quarter, no give, all take, no compassion, no restitution. The answer I have gotten on every single occasion is There is nothing I can do about it . Those breaking the rules have more rights, favor and recourse than those of us who follow them. Seacrest is currently trying to attract high end tenants by masking the vulgar mediocrity of its facility in a cloak of luxury and exclusivity. DO NOT MOVE HERE! You WILL regret it. Once you are in, they will not release you unless you pay 2 months rent and any other falsified damages. Regardless of completing your lease, you will not get your deposit back. Even neighbors in the United States Marine Corps who were being deployed to Iraq were made to pay Seacrests extortionate ransom. In summary, I have seen every decent, family oriented neighbor leave Seacrest in disgust. We gave it another chance. It failed and we too will be leaving. The dream of Orange County luxury living will never be found at Seacrest. You will be locked into a nightmare here. You will be unable to make any changes, unable to create any sense of community, powerless to stop the chaos of noise, drugs, speeding cars, shoddy construction, poor maintenance, apathetic management and crooked owners. If I can contribute one thing to this neighborhood it must be this effort to keeping you from suffering in it. DO NOT MOVE HERE!
